Overview
Gain Nationally Recognised Training from seasoned emergency service professionals. This course empowers participants with the essential skills to safely evacuate workplaces and effectively handle minor emergencies, including small fires and chemical spills.
Key Learning Outcomes
Apply Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and implement safe work practices in accordance with legislation, industry standards, codes of practice, and regulations.
Effectively communicate with occupants, emergency personnel, and stakeholders during emergencies, including providing clear instructions and directions to occupants and visitors.
Adhere to and implement facility policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols, including initiating, controlling, and contributing to initial emergency responses.
Safely confine emergencies, use initial response equipment and restore equipment post-response
Respond to emergency signals and warnings
Use communication systems effectively.
Identify, assess, and manage emergency situations, including controlling associated hazards and assisting occupants, especially those requiring special assistance.
Utilise risk management processes to prepare for and respond to facility emergencies, undertake pre-emergency planning, and contribute to facility emergency planning.
Take on leadership or deputy roles within the emergency control organisation, wearing required identification.
Document and report on facility emergency responses and outcomes and assist with post-emergency response activities, including contributing to reviewing and improving emergency procedures.
