NON-ACCREDITED VS. ACCREDITED TRAINING

Which is best for you?

Tailored to Your Needs: The Advantages of Non-Accredited Training

Contrary to other vocational training, Fire Training has different requirements to consider. Rarely is there a requirement to have accredited Fire Units. At ACTWELL, we encourage most of our clients to utilise the flexibility of non-accredited training, as we can tailor the training specifically to you at all levels and avoid unnecessary content that does not apply to or benefit your learning.

While Australian Standards and legislation don't specifically mandate Warden training to be 'accredited', they do emphasise that a competent individual must provide training. At ACTWELL, our team of firefighters, who also hold a Cert IV in Public Safety, ensure that this standard is met.

Why Most Clients Opt for Non-Accredited Training

A large percentage of our clients, from small businesses to large governmental organisations, prefer our non-accredited training. Their reasons are:

Cost-Effectiveness

It's a more budget-friendly option

Time-Efficiency

Participants spend less time in training

Customisation

Training can be specifically tailored to the unique needs of each facility

Given these benefits, we often recommend non-accredited training, encompassing Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) training and 'first attack' fire equipment instruction, to best meet our clients' diverse needs.

The Flexibility of Non-Accredited Training

Every facility is distinct, with its own set of emergency equipment and ECO (Wardens). Our non-accredited training allows us to customise courses to match the specific features of each facility, ensuring utmost relevance.

Limitations of Accredited Training

While accredited training provides 'units of competency', it has its limitations:

Lack of Flexibility

The units are fixed and might include information irrelevant to many facilities

Potential for Confusion

The rigid structure can introduce non-applicable information, leading to confusion

Pre-Course Requirements

Accredited courses often demand extensive online pre-course learning

Though we adapt accredited courses to client needs, their inherent structure restricts our ability to omit non-pertinent information.
